Toby’s Story: From Shelter Surrender to Hopeful Heartthrob
Toby’s journey to the Carteret County Humane Society shelter began on July 18, 2023, when his previous owner, unfortunately, could no longer keep him. He arrived feeling a little down and out of luck, but it didn’t take long for his sweet and loving personality to shine through. Toby may have been a bit sad at first, but he’s proven to be a resilient and optimistic pup.
This gentle boy is full of life and has so much love to give! He’s current on all his shots, has been neutered, and is just waiting for the right person or family to come along and give him the home he deserves. A Day Out at Crystal Coast Dog Studio
To give Toby a break from the shelter and a chance to show off his sweet personality, we brought him to the Crystal Coast Dog Studio for a special Doggie Day Out. At first, Toby was a little nervous in front of the camera, but we quickly discovered that he’s a big fan of string cheese! With a few cheesy bribes, he warmed up and posed like a pro.
He’s definitely a velcro dog—loving to stay close and get as many cuddles as possible. He’s the type who’d be content lounging by your side, just enjoying your company. Who could resist such a lovable lap dog?
An Unforgettable Visit to Carolina Home and Garden
After a successful studio session, we took Toby over to one of the most dog-friendly places on the Crystal Coast: Carolina Home and Garden. This place is a paradise for both people and pups, and Toby had an absolute blast! He explored the beautifully curated grounds, got showered with love from the amazing staff, and even received a few treats and a pup cup.
The original plan was to take some photos near their stunning pumpkin patch, but the owner suggested something even better—Toby hopped into their vintage truck filled with pumpkins for the cutest photo op ever! Now, this is where we give a gentle reminder: while Carolina Home and Garden loves having visitors, always remember to respect their space. They’ve put a lot of effort into making their property gorgeous for everyone to enjoy, so please ask permission before setting up any photoshoots. They do offer their lovely venue for professional photography, but a request and fee are required.
